La Gran Manzana

Last week I was able to spend some time in Manhattan. I was visiting some family in Connecticut and had a couple days to tour the city as well. Here are some of my favorite shots from the week. I hadn't had the opportunity to visit the new World Trade Center Memorial. The fountain's design was so perfectly appropriate, I was moved to tears the moment I saw it. So illustrative of the deep well of grief that was felt by every American after 9/11.

Later I visited the MOMA, the MET, and the cloisters. I didn't have much time so I just hit some of my favorites in the MET (french impressionists, the teeny tiny photography exhibit, and the American art wing).

Oh. And I ate myself silly. Some of the best places were

Le Pain Quotidien

,

A Salt and Battery

, and

The Bourgeois Pig

. Get the fondue at the Pig, along with the homemade ginger ale. Sooooo good.
